CAREER MENTORING WITH ALUMNI FROM THE HEALTHCARE SECTOR
Are you a student interested in the healthcare sector and eager to discover the roles and career opportunities this field can offer?
With this mentoring, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with Alumni of Politecnico di Milano who are currently working in healthcare, biomedical engineering, and health innovation, holding positions such as Biomedical Engineer, Clinical Engineer, Digital Health Project Manager, R&D Engineer, and other key roles within the healthcare sector.
Mentors:
- Boston Scientific, Elena Baschenis, Market Development Specialist
She holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. Following an Erasmus exchange in Portugal, she began her professional career as a Product Sales Specialist in the spinal implants sector. She joined Boston Scientific in 2020, initially working as a Field Clinical Specialist within the Peripheral Interventions team, where she provided technical-clinical support in the operating room and contributed to training healthcare professionals at hospitals and clinics across the country.
- Teoresi Medtech, Matteo Segato, Product Specialist
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (2019) and a Master’s degree in Bioengineering (2021) from the University of Padua.
After completing his studies, he spent six months as a research fellow in his Master’s thesis supervisor's research group, focusing on the mechanics of biological structures. His work centered on finite element analysis (FEA) simulations of interactions between biological structures and medical devices or other instruments.
In August 2022, he joined Teoresi S.p.A. as a Software Testing Engineer, working for a third-party client in the medical sector. His primary responsibilities involved integration and system-level testing of an automated drug delivery device (e.g., for insulin).
Starting in January 2025, he began working for Medicon/Teoresi MedTech—initially as an external consultant and subsequently as an in-house employee from January 2026. He holds the role of Product Specialist, serving as the primary technical point of contact between the client and the development teams.
- Humanitas, Marco Zanet, PMO
Marco Zanet is a biomedical engineer and MBA, and a Politecnico di Milano alumnus (BSc, MSc and MIP Graduate School of Management). He has experience across healthcare and AI: as a Data Scientist in computer vision, he developed deep learning models for histopathology image analysis, in Vienna at a biotech company and in Zurich at IBM Research. With his MBA, he moved into strategy: since April 2025 he has been PMO in the CEO Office at Humanitas. As part of the "Office of the CEO" program, he works in rotation with the group's two CEOs: turning strategic priorities into implementation plans and operating models for new services, and coordinating resources and projects across functions, while maintaining a focus on AI and digital initiatives.
During the event, you will be able to:
• interact with professionals who have followed a similar academic path and listen to their real-life experiences;
• ask direct questions to clarify doubts and curiosities about your professional future;
• discover the most in-demand roles in the healthcare, biomedical, and health technology sectors;
• understand which technical and soft skills are most valued by companies, hospitals, research centers, and healthcare organizations.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain career guidance, receive practical advice, and start building your first connections with potential employers.
What are you waiting for? Sign up and take part! The Career Service will confirm your participation in the event by email.
The event will be held in Italian or English, according to students’ preferences, and is part of the Career Service Award program.
