Would you like to take part in a hands-on experience, work in teams on a real-world case, and explore how data supports decision-making in professional environments?

 

Data Career Competition is an opportunity to experience teamwork, apply analytical thinking, and develop data-related skills, while getting closer to the dynamics of data-driven roles.

 

How does it work?

 

You will be assigned to a multidisciplinary team, working alongside students from different degree programs. The Career Service will introduce a data-based challenge, developed in collaboration with the student association Polimi Data Scientist and inspired by a real-world case.

 

In just a few hours, together with your team, you will interpret data, identify patterns, formulate hypotheses, and build a well-structured proposal—transforming data into meaningful insights for decision-making.

 

During the competition, companies and data professionals will share real cases, practical examples, and insights, offering you a direct view of how data is used across different professional contexts.

• Being a student or graduate in: Communication Design, Digital & Interaction Design, Product Service System Design, Computer Engineering, Management Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Geoinformatics Engineering, Cyber Risk Strategy & Governance, Mathematical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Telecommunications Engineering, High Performance Computing Engineering, Music and Acoustic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering
• Registration order: participation is limited to the first 50 students who sign up

 

How to take part

To participate, you must register via this page. If you wish to take part together with a fellow student, you can indicate this during the registration process.

 

After registrations close, selected students will receive a confirmation email with all operational details, instructions for the competition, and information about their assigned team.

 

Please note that the event will be held in English and is part of the Career Service Award.
